An unexpected pop-up book signing with some great friends — Fr. Michael Martine, and Linda & Don Sarno!

Seeing friends holding Finding Purpose Beyond the Shield and having the opportunity to sign copies for them was one of those moments that makes this entire journey feel very real.

This book is about service, commitment, leadership, and ultimately, the people we meet along the way. Today was a pretty good reminder that purpose is also found in friendship.

Thank you, Fr. Mike , Linda and Don, for supporting the book — but more importantly, thank you for your friendship. That means far more to me than any book sale ever could.

I’m humbled and grateful.

Leadership isn’t always about taking charge. Sometimes it’s about staying.

Years ago, as an NYPD officer, I responded to what seemed like another routine call on West 55th Street.

But the woman I met that day reminded me of my mother—and a routine call became a lesson I’ve carried with me ever since.

Duty got me to the scene. Purpose kept me there.

I share this story in Finding Purpose Beyond the Shield because some of our most important leadership lessons don't happen in a boardroom, behind a podium, or when we're given a title.

They happen in quiet moments when we have a choice to slow down, listen, and simply be there for someone.
